The 2016-2021 Long-Range Strategic Plan for the Florida Judicial Branch includes Goal 4.1: Protect all judges, court personnel, court users, and facilities through effective security, emergency preparedness, and continuity of operations plans. It is imperative that mediators know how to maintain a safe and secure professional environment that promotes the security of attendees at mediation. A frustrated or disgruntled citizen involved in the mediation process may pose a danger to the mediator or others.
