In this workshop, the presenter will outline international and U.S. law on child abduction, with a discussion on the expanding role of mediators in such matters. The presenter will discuss: applicable international treaties, including the 1980 Hague Abduction Convention; applicable federal and state law in international child abduction cases; the role of the U.S. District Courts; and the potential role of mediators in such cases. Interaction between the presenter and the attendees will be welcomed.
